Distance from Indra Gandhi International Airport is approximately 15 Km from Domestic Airport, the venue is 10 KM.

 

Climate & Weather

Delhi is a land locked city with an extreme type of continental climate. The summers in Delhi are very hot and winters very cold. The temperature range varies from 45 C in summers to 4 C in winters. The winters are marked by occasional mist & fog in the mornings. The cold wave can make winters very chilly. In summers the heat wave could be immense and adequate precaution has to be taken before going out in the hot summer afternoons. The best season to visit Delhi is during the spring seasons of February to April and August to November. The bloom season of February and March makes Delhi colorful

 

Public Transport

For general transport, taxis on meter basis are plentiful and relatively cheap. In addition, a metro service is available in selected routes. Public bus service is available in plenty but is crowded. Pre-paid taxi services are available at Indira Gandhi National and International Airports. Usually taking Pre Paid Taxi from airport is little expensive. Customs Formalities & Regulations

Arrival Formalities: Visitors are generally required to make an oral baggage declaration in respect of baggage and foreign currency in their possession. They are also required to obtain the Currency Declaration Form from the Customs. They should fill in the Disembarkation Card handed over to them by the airline during the course of the flight.

Departure from India: All persons, except nationals of Bhutan & Nepal, leaving by air, road or rail have to fill in an Embarkation Card at the time of departure.

Restaurants

New Delhi has a number of restaurants specializing in all the regional dishes of India and neighboring Asian countries as well as European and American cuisine. There are 8 – 10 restaurants within 1 km vicinity of the venue

 

Passports and Visa Requirements

Citizens of all countries, (except Nepal and Bhutan), require a valid national passport or valid travel documents and a valid visa granted by Indian Missions / Consulates abroad for entering India. Nepalese or Bhutanese citizens need no passport or visa but should possess suitable documents for their identification when proceeding from their respective countries.

Conference Visa : It is recommended that the Students coming to attend Training Program in India should opt for Conference Visa to cover the conference as well as for tourism in India. Students are advised to apply to Indian Embassies well in advance, with an invitation letter from OSSCube.

Tourist Visa : Usually for spouses and accompanying persons, a visa valid for a period of 90 to 180 days, is granted for the purpose of tourism. The visa is valid from the date of issue.

 

Foreign Currency Regulations

There are no restrictions on the amount of foreign currency or travelers' cheques a tourist may bring into India provided he makes a declaration in the Currency Declaration Form that is handed over on arrival. This will enable traveler not only to exchange the currency brought in, but also to take the unspent currency out of India on departure. Cash, bank notes and travelers' cheques up to US$ 1,000 or equivalent, need not be declared at the time of entry. Any money in the form of travelers' cheques, drafts, bills, cheques, etc. in convertible currencies, which tourists wish to convert into Indian currency, should be exchanged only through authorized money changers or banks that issue an encashment certificate required at the time of re-conversion of any unspent money into foreign currency on departure.

 

Languages

Hindi and English is commonly used in all business transactions.

 

Currency

The currency of India is the Rupee, which has 100 paise to it. The Indian rupee (INR) comes in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000. The money can be exchanged in bank, at the hotels and even at the venue. It is advisable that the local transactions be done only in INR. The import & export of the INR is not allowed . Exchanging of foreign currency other than at banks or authorized money changers is an offence under Foreign Exchange Regulations Act 1973.

 

Vaccination

Foreign tourists should be in possession of their Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate conforming to International Health Regulation, if they are originating or transiting through Yellow Fever endemic countries. Any person (including infants) arriving by air or sea without a certificate is detained in isolation for a period up to 6 days if arriving from an endemic area

 

Electric Supply

The standard electric supply in India is 230 volts AC , 50 Hz, single phase for all domestic lighting. Most hotels also provide 110 volts electric point for use of electric shavers, hair dryers etc.

 

Insurence

OSSCube cannot accept any responsibility for personal losses, accidents, and damages to participants or accompanying persons. Nor do the Organizers accept any responsibility for any unforeseen, unrelated events, which prevent a participant or accompanying persons from attending the training. Participants are therefore strongly advised to take personal insurance to cover any eventuality that might visit one before, during or after training has taken place.

 

Accommodation

New Delhi has 100s of hotels in various categories of budget, 3 star, 4 star and 5 star. There are number of budget hotels available with in 3 KM range from the venue. Other categories of the hotel are with in 5-10 km of distance from the venue.
