I am currently attending keynote session by Harish Pilay from Redhat. He is talking on "The Magic of Infinity: How abundance drives innovation and economies".

He is quoted some interesting facts so far! "Linux Kernel in Fedora 9 has 204, 500, 946 source lines of code!!" "It has taken 59,389.53 man years to develop Fedora! and USD 10,784,484,309 if somebody would have developed it!"

First Day at OSSPAC 09 Singapore

We were looking forward to attend OSSPAC 09. I was specially super excited because it is first time that we were travelling with Avyakt! We pondered over and over again on if we should cancel our participation in OSSPAC because Avyakt may be too young to travel. We also debated if it would be professional to take infant kid in a Conference. We finally decided to take Avyakt along with us. I am really happy to see people at OSSPAC are very happy to see Avyakt. They are also appreciative that we did not stopped our participation. Here are some of the pictures from the opening day.

Shifting gears from Basecamp!

OSSCube has been successfully using basecamp for project management. We started flirting with basecamp 18 months back and within 2 months all our projects were in basecamp. Today all our internal and external projects are on basecamp. Basecamp provided a great platform for Macro Project Management and instilled discipline in different teams. As our teams matured they started to ask how to achieve:

Major Open Source Healthcare Companies are participating in “Demonstrating Open Source Healthcare Solutions (DOHCS) Conference”

Landscape of IT in US Healthcare is transforming at a fast pace. Be it incentives for e-prescription or 20 Billion USD package for healthcare. Several legislations are being considered for making use IT in healthcare mandatory. For example Blue Cross Shield of Massachusetts made it mandatory for hospitals to use computerized provider order entry (CPOE) technology.

Planning for OSScamp Delhi begins

We are having a hectic quarter with regards to osscamps. Our team has just returned back from OSSCamp Pantnagar. OSSCamp Pantnagar was hugely successful with around 175 campers, 16-20 sessions spread over two days. Now its time to take actions for OSSCamp Delhi which is scheduled on 27, 28 March at IIT Delhi. There is a request from the community to organize one osscamp in Chennai in March and another one in San Francisco in May.
